Kankakee, IL – Gun Drawn in Drive-Through: Bradley Man Arrested After Chaotic Event

Kankakee, IL – In a startling midday event, Kankakee City Police have taken 18-year-old Devin Kavanaugh of Bradley into custody following an alarming episode at a local drive-through. 

According to Kankakee city police reports the incident began shortly after 1:30 PM on Monday and was documented by security cameras at a business on the 1700 block of East Court Street. Security footage reportedly showed an SUV pulling into the drive-through, quickly followed by another vehicle that blocked its path. From the second vehicle, two individuals emerged; one aggressively entered the SUV through the passenger window, while one man is alleged to have attempted to draw a weapon on the vehicle. Unable to enter the SUV, he retreated to his car, maneuvered around the lot, and then fled the scene with his accomplice.

The suspect was intercepted a few hours later by the police in the 100 block of North Myrtle. Kavanaugh was identified by police as the suspect to reportedly pulled the gun on the vehicle and subsequently arrested on charges of alleged aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by someone under 21.
