The school district quickly responded, informing parents that the report was false and a fraud.

In an official statement, Kankakee School District 111 assured parents that the safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance and that they are saddened by the false information that was spread. The district also confirmed that school was in session and that there was no threat to students or staff.
