Manteno Homeowner Chases Burglar Who Stole their Car

MANTENO, Ill. – A homeowner in Manteno interrupted a burglary in progress and ended up chasing the thief who stole their car early Tuesday morning. 

The incident occurred on 5000 E Road, just southeast of Manteno, around 3 a.m. The suspect fled the scene in the homeowner’s 2003 White Ford Mustang, and the homeowner followed the stolen vehicle until it was out of sight in Will County. 

The Kankakee County Sheriff’s investigators and the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force are asking anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers at 815-93CRIME.
