Manure Mishap: Semi-Truck Spills 30,000 Pounds of Manure on I-55 near Chicago

HODGKINS, Ill. – A stinky situation unfolded Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 55 near Chicago as a semi-tractor trailer overturned, spilling a whopping 30,000 pounds of manure onto the expressway. 

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m., near LaGrange Road in Hodgkins, according to Illinois State Police. 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the southbound ramp to LaGrange North had to be closed for at least two hours for recovery and cleanup efforts.
