Residents in Northern Indiana, Southwest Lower Michigan, and Northwest Ohio should prepare for a stormy Memorial Day weekend, with severe weather expected on Friday and Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe weather on Friday, May 24, particularly west of I-69, including Fort Wayne, Indiana. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats for Friday’s storms, expected to hit in the late afternoon and evening.

Sunday, May 26, also holds a 15% risk for severe weather across the same regions, with uncertainties regarding timing and location. Temperatures will range from the 70s to low 80s over the weekend, cooling slightly by Monday, which also has a significant chance of rain. Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
