Shots Fired on I-65 Southbound Near Lowell Exit Early Wednesday Morning

Lake County, IN – Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on I-65 southbound, near the Lowell exit in the early hours of Wednesday morning. 

According to reports, Trooper Beers responded to a report of shots fired at a vehicle at approximately 4:45 a.m. Eyewitnesses reported that a light-colored SUV, potentially a Chevrolet, fired a gun at a semi-truck while both vehicles were driving southbound. 

The perpetrator, described as a white male wearing a black shirt, damaged the front passenger tire and other areas of the semi-truck but left the driver unharmed.

The Indiana State Police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the shooter to come forward. They are particularly interested in obtaining any video footage of the incident or any information about the shooter’s whereabouts.
