BOURBONNAIS – After working with suggestions provided by the CDC, the Village of Bourbonnais is issuing safety tips for those participating in trick-or-treat this October.  It comes after Bourbonnais announced Thursday afternoon Trick-or-Treat would go on from 4 to 6 pm on October 31st.

“Our community’s ongoing patience and continued mitigation efforts during COVID-19 has been remarkable,” explained Mayor Schore. “It is important to remember that Halloween and trick-or-treating is not a village event. We believe our residents will make the safest choice that is best suited for their families on Halloween. Participation is an individual choice, and parents have the right to choose.”

Among tips for trick-or-treaters included stay home if you are sick, only trick-or-treat with those you live with, wear a face covering over your nose and mouth, and use hand sanitizer frequently while your out.

For homeowners, the village recommends not handing out candy if you are sick, wearing a face mask, and putting a position distribution table between yourself and trick-or-treaters.

For a full list of recommendations, visit the village’s website here.
