MOROCCO, IN – A truck involved in a two vehicle crash on US 41 Friday left an Illinois man seriously injured.
According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Department, 85 happened just after 4:30 p.m. five miles north of Morocco when a white SUV driven by a 27-year-old woman with her 6-year-old son inside hit a silver pickup truck traveling southbound, causing the pickup truck to roll over multiple times.
Due to the extent of the wreckage, the truck’s driver, a 62-year-old Illinois man, had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel and airlifted to a nearby hospital.
The man’s 54-year-old wife was also in the vehicle at the time of the wreck. The condition of the Illinois man remains unknown at this time.
All other individuals involved in the crash were transported to nearby hospitals. The identities of those involved have not been released.
