Braidwood Man Faces Charges for Entering School Zone as Sex Offender

BRAIDWOOD, IL – In a concerning incident Wednesday morning, Braidwood police apprehended a known sex offender, Jason Escalante, for allegedly driving through the front parking lot of Reed-Custer Elementary School to drop off his girlfriend’s child. 

According to authorities, Escalante was taken into custody shortly after the observed incident. The school was promptly notified about the situation.

Escalante has been arrested on charges of Unlawful Presence within a school zone and has been transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. 

It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
