Body found near Des Plaines River in Joliet identified

JOLIET – The body of a man pulled near the banks of the Des Plaines River Friday near the North Bluff St. and West Jefferson St. area has been identified.

The Will County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Saturday morning as 42-year-old Quintin L. Bass of Joliet.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

Joliet Police announced the discovery Friday afternoon after finding what appeared to be an African American adult in the river that showed no sights of life. The Coroner’s Office was called to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased a short time later.

The Joliet Police Department is actively investigating this incident.
