JOLIET TOWNSHIP – Two people are dead after a shooting early Sunday morning at a Halloween party with roughly 200 people in attendance.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to roughly a dozen gunshots just before 1 am Sunday near Jackson Street and Walnut Street. Upon arriving, nearly 100 people were seen by law enforcement fleeing the scene on eastbound Jackson Street.
Officers later found several attendees of a Halloween Party with gunshot wounds in the backyard and near other homes in the area. At least two died from their injures with another four reported having life-threatening injuries.
Witness reported 200 people were at the party, describing a shooter as a Hispanic man of average height wearing a red hooding, black-billed hat, and dark pants. Another shooter was described as an average-sized Black or Hispanic man wearing a yellow hoodie and a ski mask.
