UPDATE: Will County Coroner’s Office Identifies Victim of Lockport Crash

LOCKPORT, Ill. – The Will County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal two-car head-on collision in Lockport as Shane E. Walker, a 29-year-old resident of the city. Mr. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene on March 15, 2023, at 8:36 a.m.

According to the Illinois State Police, Mr. Walker was the driver of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle in the 3300 block of S. State Street, south of Riley Avenue in Lockport Township. An autopsy conducted on March 16 revealed that Mr. Walker sustained multiple injuries. The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date.

The intersection of S State St and Grandview Ave was closed for several hours following the wreck.

The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Additional information about the crash will be released as it becomes available.
