MOKENA, Ill. – Residents in the Blackthorne Ridge/Boulder Ridge area were on high alert on Monday morning after armed suspects were seen checking cars.
A resident reported the incident via the Neighbors app at around 4 a.m., stating that three suspects were spotted with a handgun drawn and pointed at their door.
Shortly after the report, residents contacted Mokena Police when they saw the suspects’ white 4-door sedan, possibly a Kia or import vehicle, driving around the neighborhood. Officers were able to locate the suspects a short time later, but they fled before they could be caught.
Police are now asking anyone with video footage or photos of the suspects to come forward. Residents are also being urged to check their video footage and report any suspicious activity.
