Lockport, IL – House Fire Quickly Controlled, No Injuries Reported

Lockport, IL – A house fire in Lockport’s Westpark Community was swiftly contained by local fire departments on Thursday night.

According to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, the blaze was reported at 8:12 p.m. on February 22, 2024, and occurred in the 100 block of Coreopsis Ct. No injuries were reported as the homeowners were not present during the incident.

The fire, erupting from a second-story window and reaching into the attic, was extinguished within ten minutes, followed by an hour-long overhaul to ensure full extinguishment. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced family.

Multiple departments, including Bolingbrook, East Joliet, Homer, Romeoville, Plainfield, and Troy, contributed to the efforts under a Full Still alarm. Investigations continue but the fire is believed to be accidental.
