Manteno, IL – The Manteno Police Department is actively creating eligibility lists for both new hires and lateral moves to fill several immediate police officer positions. The starting salary is set at $61,481, remaining in effect until May 2025, with the possibility of higher wages for officers bringing in valuable previous experience.

Located in Manteno, Illinois, the department is authorized for 21 full-time officers, emphasizing a comprehensive benefits package that includes 11 paid holidays, initial uniform and equipment provisions, and accruable benefit time from day one. Officers can look forward to 8 1/2-hour shifts with rotating days off in a patrol division that values both structure and work-life balance.

Beyond financial incentives, Manteno PD boasts a variety of specialized roles and training opportunities. With a newly occupied modern police station, the department provides state-of-the-art facilities, including a quality workout room and expansive locker rooms. Specialty roles include a dedicated investigations unit, school resource officers, and members of auto theft and various other task forces, alongside opportunities in SWAT, domestic violence, bicycle patrol, and drone operation.
