The fog was expected to lift by mid-morning.
According to the National Weather Service office in Milwaukee/Sullivan, patchy dense fog was reported across south-central counties including Dane, Rock, and Green. Motorists were urged to slow down and use headlights on morning commutes. The weather service also highlighted the chance for thunderstorms developing late Friday evening into early Saturday morning, which could bring brief downpours and lightning across parts of southeastern Wisconsin.
In Milwaukee, skies remain mostly sunny Friday with highs near 80 degrees before clouds increase overnight. Patchy fog and scattered showers are expected into early Saturday, with lows near 66. By Saturday afternoon, drier and sunnier weather will return, setting the stage for a clear stretch into next week.
The weather service noted that no hazardous conditions are expected beyond Saturday morning, with dry and pleasant conditions likely through Thursday.
