Momence schools transitions to remote learning through October beginning August 31st

MOMENCE – Momence CUSD #1 Superintendent Shannon Anderson announced Wednesday Momence schools will transition to remote learning beginning August 31st.

“This is an extremely difficult decision that was reached based on many considerations and conversations.” Anderson said in a letter to parents Wednesday.  “The district Pandemic Team will re-evaluate our plan on Friday, October 2nd to consider a return to in-person blended learning.”

Tomorrow and Friday will serve as remote planning days for teachers in Momence, with no instructions for students.  Momence schools are one of several area institutions that have reported cases of COVID-19 among its community since a return to in-person learning.

“We appreciate your patience and support. We ask that you partner with us in following IDPH guidelines in order to do our part in keeping this virus under control.” Anderson added.
