Nashville, TN – Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Smith Springs Road

Nashville, TN – In a tragic incident that unfolded on Wednesday night, a pedestrian lost his life following a crash on Smith Springs Road, near Castlegate Drive, Nashville. 

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the collision occurred around 10 p.m., involving a Nissan Altima and 24-year-old Perry Reed. Reed, who was walking westbound on the right side of the road, was hit by the vehicle. The driver of the Nissan reported not seeing Reed prior to the collision. Despite the accident, she stayed at the scene, and investigations revealed no signs of impairment on her part. Reed was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident has prompted a thorough investigation, including toxicology testing by the Medical Examiner’s Office, to ascertain whether impairment played a role in this fatal crash. The Nashville community mourns the loss of a young life and awaits further details as the police continue their investigation.
