Washington, D.C. – A nationwide consumer product recall is underway after LuxJet Submersible LED Lights were found to pose a serious ingestion hazard to children due to accessible coin batteries, federal safety officials announced Thursday.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled lights violate mandatory federal safety standards for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries. The lights contain lithium coin batteries that can be easily accessed by children and do not include required warning labels under Reese’s Law.
If swallowed, button cell or coin batteries can cause severe internal chemical burns, serious injury, or death within hours, according to safety officials. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall at this time.
The recall affects approximately 9,150 units of LuxJet Submersible LED Lights. The products were sold in sets of 10 color-changing LED lights with two remote controls. Each light measures about 3.5 centimeters in diameter and contains preinstalled CR2450 lithium batteries, while the remotes use CR2032 lithium batteries.
The recalled products were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from January 2022 through November 2025 for about $23, according to the CPSC.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled LED lights and keep them out of reach of children. LuxJet is offering a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the product and email a photo of the destroyed item to info@luxjet.com.cn, the company said.
The lights were manufactured in China and distributed by Shenzhen Shimei Lighting Co., Ltd., doing business as LuxJet.
Safety officials also reminded consumers that button cell and coin batteries should be disposed of or recycled following local hazardous waste guidelines.
