Omaha, NE – Eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa are bracing for potential flash flooding this evening as a storm system moves through the region, bringing repeated rounds of rain.

According to the US National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, storms traveling along a line may result in up to 1 inch of rainfall across much of the area tonight. However, isolated locations could see as much as 3 inches or more.

The heaviest rainfall and highest risk of flooding are expected between 7 PM and 11 PM tonight. This increased rainfall may lead to rapid water accumulation, especially in low-lying areas and regions with poor drainage.
