Jasper County, IN – A road rage incident in Jasper County escalated when a North Carolina man reportedly displayed an assault rifle. Antawn T. Smith, 31, from Concord, North Carolina, was involved in the altercation on December 18, 2023.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Smith brandished an AR-15 style rifle while driving a 2022 Dodge Charger with North Carolina plates near County Rd. 1000 W. and County Rd. 100 S. Deputies arrested Smith, finding a loaded rifle, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
Smith now faces charges including two counts of Intimidation (Level 5 Felony), two counts of Criminal Recklessness (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).
