North Dakota Teen Escapes Fiery Crash Near Walcott After Swerving to Avoid Deer

Walcott, ND – A 15-year-old male driver swerved to avoid a deer on 167th Ave SE, causing his vehicle to catch fire.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred about four miles north of Walcott and one mile south of Highway 46. The driver entered a ditch and crashed into a field, where the vehicle caught fire in the corn stubble. He managed to escape and call for help. The Kindred Fire Department extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was a total loss. The juvenile’s name has not been released.
