Palos Hills, IL – Moving Company Discovers Grenade in Condo, Bomb Squad Responds

PALOS HILLS, IL – A routine move in a condo unit took an unexpected turn when a moving company discovered a grenade on January 29, 2024. 

According to the Palos Hills Police Department, the incident occurred in the 11300 block of Moraine Drive. The Cook County Sheriff’s Police Bomb Squad was promptly called to the scene. Upon inspection, the bomb squad determined the grenade was inert and posed no threat. 

The device was then safely taken by the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Bomb Squad for proper disposal. The incident, which caused a temporary stir in the community, was resolved without any injuries or damage.
