Palos Park, IL – Scam Alert: Fraudsters Posing as U.S. Marshals in Nationwide Jury Duty Scam

Palos Park, IL – Palos Park Police Department has issued a warning about a nationwide scam where individuals impersonate U.S. Marshals and federal court personnel. 

According to the alert, these fraudsters target victims with intimidating phone calls, alleging they missed jury duty and face arrest and fines. They demand payment via cash, gift cards, or credit/debit card information, often using public information to appear credible. 

Instances of this scam have been reported in Kansas, with varying degrees of success. The Police Department urges vigilance and reporting of any such incidents to prevent further exploitation.
