Peoria, IL – A routine traffic stop conducted by Peoria Police in the early hours of Saturday, March 23, 2024, led to the arrest of 53-year-old Gregory A. Rucker, who was wanted on an active warrant. The stop took place in the 400 block of SW Washington around 12:50 a.m. for a traffic violation. Upon contact, officers confirmed Rucker’s warrant and detained him for further investigation.
According to the Peoria Police Department, a search of Rucker’s vehicle uncovered a firearm, illegal drugs, and a significant amount of currency, both in the vehicle and on Rucker himself. These findings resulted in Rucker’s arrest on charges including Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, in addition to several traffic violations. Rucker was transported to the Peoria County Jail following his arrest.
