Peotone Elementary School Cancels Classes for Young Students Due to Steam Pipe Leak

Peotone, IL – Peotone Elementary School (PES) announced the cancellation of classes for kindergarten through third grade students today, following a large steam pipe leak in the building. 

The announcement was made at 7:10am, causing parents and guardians to scramble to make arrangements for their children’s care.

According to PES officials, the steam pipe leak occurred in the early morning hours and was quickly discovered by staff. 

The school administration made the decision to cancel classes for the affected students out of concern for their safety and to allow time for repairs to be made. 

The PES administration has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and stated that they are working diligently to make necessary repairs and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
