Pontiac, MI – A 22-year-old Pontiac man is facing a first-degree murder charge following a deadly stabbing that occurred early Saturday inside a home in Oakland County.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was arraigned Monday, April 21, 2026, in connection with the death of a 57-year-old woman identified as his father’s live-in girlfriend. Authorities say the incident happened shortly after midnight in the 30 block of North Roselawn Street in Pontiac.
Investigators allege the suspect stabbed the woman multiple times in the torso, arms, and hands. Deputies were dispatched after the suspect’s father called 911, reporting that his son had allegedly attacked the victim.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman on a bedroom floor suffering from severe injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, according to officials.
Authorities said the suspect was located inside the home, and a knife believed to have been used in the attack was recovered in the kitchen area. He was taken into custody without incident.
The sheriff’s office reports that the father was in another room at the time of the stabbing and went to investigate after hearing a disturbance.
The suspect is currently being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail. A probable cause conference is scheduled for April 30, with a preliminary examination set for May 7 in Pontiac’s 50th District Court.
