Salyersville, KY – KSP Makes Major Drug Bust in Magoffin County

Salyersville, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested two individuals in the Salyersville community of Magoffin County on March 7, 2024. 

According to KSP, the arrests were the result of a traffic safety checkpoint operation carried out by troopers and Post 9’s Drug Interdiction Unit. During the checkpoint, law enforcement officials confiscated approximately 75 grams of suspected fentanyl, one pound of suspected marijuana, an ounce of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. 

Armando Elizondo, 24, of Lexington, faces allegations and charges including Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, along with other traffic-related offenses. Chad Wallen, 41, of East Point, was charged with alleged Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both individuals were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center following their arrests.
