St. Clair County, IL – Starting Monday, motorists traveling westbound on I-55/70 between IL 111 and IL 203 should prepare for significant lane closures due to pavement repairs.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that the right lane will be closed from 7:30 a.m. Monday until 3 p.m. Friday. Additionally, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, an extra lane will be closed to accommodate repair work. Despite these closures, all entrance and exit ramps will remain open, minimizing disruptions for local traffic.

According to IDOT, these repairs are crucial for maintaining road safety and ensuring a smoother driving experience for commuters. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if possible. Commuters can visit IDOT’s website for the latest information and to plan their journeys accordingly.
