“We are looking forward to another successful community event with the Bourbonnais Township Park District,” expressed Mayor Paul Schore. “350 participants come from not just Kankakee County but outside of the county to experience Chocolate Tour in the village. It brings together our residents, businesses and visitors while giving back to the community. We couldn’t be more pleased with the annual outcome.”

Returning this year due to popular demand, Chocolate Tour apparel is available for purchase at Sweet Street located at 592 William Latham Dr. and will be available the day of the event within the Municipal Center’s Community Room at 700 Main Street NW.

“We are grateful for the response to the Chocolate Tour,” said Hollice Clark, Executive Director of the Bourbonnais Township Park District. “From the wonderful businesses in the village, to the residents and visitors, it’s a testament to the sense of community here. The tour provides participants a delightful winter afternoon of fun and chocolate, and it’s all to further benefit the community.”

Proceeds from the 2017 and 2018 Chocolate Tour events benefited the Event and Skate Plaza, a collaborative effort between the Village of Bourbonnais and Bourbonnais Township Park District. The 2019 proceeds are currently benefiting the Children’s Safety Center. The 2020 proceeds will support the 1837 log schoolhouse restoration project in the village as well as new programs for children and family-focused events at Perry Farm Park.

The Chocolate Tour, hosted by the Village of Bourbonnais and Bourbonnais Township Park District, sold 350 tickets in a record-setting ninety minutes, and the number of business participation was capped at 40 stops this year.
