Traffic Crash With Semis on I-55 Shuts Down Northbound Lanes

Lincoln, IL – A crash involving two semi-trailers on I-55 northbound near milepost 125 has resulted in a complete shutdown of the highway. The incident occurred at the overhead of Route 121 in Lincoln, and troopers are currently on the scene.

According to Illinois State Police Troop 6, all lanes will remain closed for a minimum of 4-6 hours as units process the scene. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect significant delays. The closure is expected to last indefinitely as authorities work to clear the wreckage and ensure roadway safety.
