NEW LENOX, Ill. – The U.S. Marshals Service has successfully captured the alleged 3rd carjacking suspect linked to the New Lenox incident, hailing all the way from Chicago.

According to New Lenox Police, Martavies L. Sanders, 18, was taken into custody on Friday in Sangamon County, Illinois, with an imposing $1 million bond set against him. Sanders had been on the run since an Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking unfolded on June 20th. Following their unsuccessful attempts to locate him, the New Lenox Police Department sought the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. The joint efforts of these law enforcement agencies have yielded a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

Currently held in Sangamon County, Sanders awaits further legal proceedings. Sanders is now the third individual apprehended in the incident.  Two others involved in the carjacking, a 17-year-old male juvenile and 18-year-old Timothy Gaines, have already been apprehended and charged, remaining in Will County.
