Wheaton, IL – School to Host Simulated Gunfire Training Exercise

Wheaton, IL – On Tuesday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Wheaton Police Department and Community Unit School District 200 will conduct a joint training exercise at Franklin Middle School. The exercise will simulate a response to a critical incident and include simulated gunfire.

According to the City of Wheaton Government, this notice is to prevent alarm in the community if gunfire is heard and there is a significant police presence in the area. Signs will be posted while the training is in progress. More details can be found on the city’s official website.
