Winnipeg, Manitoba – A 21-year-old man is in custody after Winnipeg police seized a loaded firearm during an early morning response on Kenaston Boulevard.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers from the West District General Patrol responded just before 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2026, to an apartment complex in the 600 block of Kenaston Boulevard following reports of an incident involving a firearm.
When officers arrived, they located individuals inside a parked 2016 Dodge Challenger. Police safely removed a man and a woman from the vehicle. During a subsequent search, officers discovered a loaded handgun inside the car.
The man, identified as Logan Stanley Johnston Bruce Baker, 21, has been charged with multiple offenses. These include possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized, and carrying a concealed weapon. He also faces charges related to possessing a firearm with a tampered serial number and pointing a firearm.
Additional charges include uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with conditions of a release order, according to police.
Authorities allege the suspect was in unlawful possession of the weapon at the time of the incident. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the call or whether additional suspects are being sought.
