Winter Storm Watch: Up to 9 inches of Snow possible this weekend

CHICAGO – A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the area Saturday into Sunday with 5-9 inches of snow possible in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service, portions of Northeastern Illinois and Northwest Indiana could see up to 9 inches of snow in the forecast beginning Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Most significant impacts occurring late into Saturday evening.

Strong winds and heavy wet snow are expected, causing white out conditions with low visibility and snow packed roads.
