Wisconsin Dells, WI – A routine fishing trip took an unexpected turn when a local fisherman discovered a stolen vehicle submerged in a Wisconsin Dells lake on Friday afternoon.

The vehicle, which was reported stolen in 2014, was found near the public boat launch on River Road. The Wisconsin Dells Police Department, aided by the Columbia County Dive Team, recovered the vehicle.

Further investigations reaffirmed the connection of the vehicle to a theft incident that took place nearly a decade ago, marking a surprising twist in an old crime story.
