Madison, WI – Wisconsin’s fishing enthusiasts are counting down the days until the state’s inland fishing season opener, with preparations in full swing.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has emphasized the importance of getting tackle boxes, sling packs, and vests ready before the rush of the first day. The spring issue of Wisconsin Natural Resources magazine has published an essential checklist to ensure anglers are well-equipped for a day on the lakes. The DNR’s reminds fishers to stock up on food to avoid hunger pangs during slow action periods, highlighting essentials for both the tackle box and the anglers themselves, including licensing and safety tips for a successful catch-and-release.

The opening day is anticipated to draw crowds eager to experience the tranquility and excitement of Wisconsin’s renowned fishing spots.
