Madison, WI – Wisconsin residents can enjoy Free Fun Weekend, June 1-2, with free access to state parks and fishing sites.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, almost 60 fishing tackle loaner sites across the state offer free equipment, including rods, reels, bobbers, hooks, lines, and sinkers. Approximately half of these sites are located in state parks.

During Free Fun Weekend, state park admission fees, fishing licenses, and trail passes are waived. Standard fishing regulations, including bag and size limits and species restrictions, still apply. More information and a list of tackle loaner sites can be found on the DNR website.
