Boston, MA – A chilly start is giving way to milder temperatures across Massachusetts today, but spotty showers could briefly impact travel through the afternoon and early evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, temperatures began in the 30s early Monday and will climb into the upper 40s to low 50s by early afternoon. A 20 percent chance of light showers develops mainly after midday, especially across eastern Massachusetts, including Boston, Plymouth, and the South Coast.
Roads such as I-90, I-93, and I-95 are expected to remain mostly dry, but brief showers could create isolated slick spots during peak travel hours. Cities including Worcester, Springfield, and Providence will also see similar conditions, with highs ranging from 49 to 53 degrees.
Winds remain light out of the west, limiting any widespread impacts, and no severe weather is expected. Visibility may briefly drop during any passing showers, but rainfall totals will remain minimal.
Drivers should stay alert for quick changes in road conditions and allow extra time if showers develop during the afternoon commute. Dry conditions return later tonight, with additional updates expected if rain coverage increases beyond current projections.
