Malvern, AR – An air of solemnity hangs over Hot Spring County as Sheriff Scott Finkbeiner confronts allegations that led to his arrest on April 10, 2024.

Following an Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division inquiry, Finkbeiner is charged with misdemeanor sexual solicitation and the alleged felony of unauthorized use of the Arkansas Crime Information Center. This development came to light after a methodical investigation, with Finkbeiner reportedly cooperating with law enforcement, culminating in his surrender to the county detention center. The gravity of the charges is underscored by the $10,000 bond set by the court.

While the allegations have not been proven in court, the sheriff’s detainment on these counts has already begun shaping public discourse on the conduct and oversight of local authorities.

The alleged misuse of sensitive information systems has especially drawn scrutiny, given the sheriff’s role in upholding the law. As the community grapples with the implications of these charges, the legal process is expected to unravel more details.
