WEST HELENA, Ark. – A manhunt is in progress for a Helena man accused of a deadly shooting that occurred after the Central High School prom.
The Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division is seeking 19-year-old Donterious Stephens, charged with first-degree murder and firearms possession in connection to the death of 18-year-old Lorenzo Harrison III.
According to police reports the incident took place early Sunday morning across from the Ater Warehouse on Highway 49, a known gathering point for students. The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, which initially responded to the scene, has appealed to the public for help in locating Stephens.
Anyone with information regarding Stephens’ whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office or CID Company A. In the meantime, Harrison’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to ascertain the cause and manner of his death.
