Arkansas Tragedy: Two Dead Following Lee County Plane Crash

Marianna, AR — A devastating plane crash in Lee County has resulted in the deaths of two individuals late Sunday evening. Authorities were alerted to the potential crash at approximately 9 p.m. on May 12, following concerns from family members who lost contact with the aircraft, which was traveling from Florida to Batesville Airport.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office and West Helena Police Department swiftly coordinated search efforts. The aircraft was discovered in a field, approximately 12 miles southeast of Marianna, at around 9:30 p.m. Inside, officials found Joseph Bryant, 72, and Sharon Bryant, 73, both deceased. There were no other passengers on board.

The case has now been handed over to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), tasked with investigating the specifics of the crash to determine its cause.
