Classic Cinemas will begin a ‘gradual reopening’ of movie theaters across Illinois, beginning June 26th.

Classic Cinemas CEO Chris Johnson made the announcement earlier this week.

The chain operates ten movie theaters across Chicagoland, including Kankakee’s Paramount Theatre location on Schuyler Ave.

Capacity will be limited upon reopening.  Only 50% of seating will be allowed.   The theater will block off every other row and ask guests to leave three seats between parties.

“We understand if you aren’t comfortable coming back quite yet, but if you are ready for a movie outing, please read our health and safety measures below that we have put in place to ensure your moviegoing experience is a fun and safe one.” Classic Cinemas said in a statement.

Showtimes will also be longer than normal to allow for additional cleaning and disinfecting seats.
