Oh my god.  My mind is going a mile an hour.

According to NBCUniversal, The Office will jump ship from NETFLIX to an as yet to be named streaming service in 2021.

Over 52 billion minutes of The Office was on NETFLIX last year alone.  Comcast owns plenty of content currently found on the streaming service, including Parks & Rec, The Good Place, Cheers, Friends, and The Blacklist among others.

According to a statement by NBCUniversal in a press release issued earlier today,

“’The Office’ is one of our most prized series, and we are thrilled it has found an exciting new home where generation after generation will continue to discover and rediscover Michael Scott’s most cringe-worthy moments, Jim and Pam’s will-they-or-won’t-they, and the incredible quirky ensemble that makes each episode a masterclass in comedy,”

-PEARLENA IGBOKWE, PRESIDENT, UNIVERSAL TELEVISION.

It’s yet to be determined which shows will leave the network and which (if any) will stay.  When CBS launched its streaming service, CBS All Access in 2014, it allowed NETFLIX to retain broadcasting variety of CBS programming.  As of February 2019, CBS All Access had over 4 million subscribers.

An official launch date for the new NBCUniversal service has yet to be determined.  The Office premiered on NBC in 2005.
