QUINCY, Calif. – A 30-year-old man from Reno, NV found himself in a perilous situation early Sunday, October 15, after a high-speed misjudgment at Hallelujah Junction.

According to police the vehicle’s collision with a gas pump and concrete island necessitated an intense over-an-hour-long rescue effort.

Emergency personnel worked diligently to free the trapped driver, who, reportedly, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. No evidence points to cellphone usage during the incident. Following the rescue, he was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
