Illinois announced 330 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the State total to 1,865. Among them, two officers and an inmate at Statesville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, which is now on 14-day lock-down.

The facility is just one of many across the State that has announced new positives.  Earlier today Amazon Warehouse in Joliet verified an employee tested positive for COVID-19 and was now in quarantine at home.  Sheridan Correctional Center also announced a positive test.

“We’ve made sure that across our prisons in particular, that we’re making space.” Governor Pritzker said this afternoon. After consulting with IDPH, the Department of Corrections determined staff and men incarcerated at the Sheridan facility were at low to medium risk for potential exposure.  The facility also was placed on a 14-day lockdown.

There are now positive COVID-19 tests in 35 counties across Illinois.  Among new counties reporting cases include Douglas, Marshall and Morgan.  Kankakee County now has 10 positive cases of COVID-19.
