BAD WEEK: Iroquois County reports 22 new COVID-19 cases since Sunday, Merkle Knipprath nursing home

Saturday afternoon marked the end of a bad week as 22 new cases of COVID-19 had been reported across the Iroquois County since last Sunday.  There have now been 38 cases of COVID-19 to date reported in the County.

Among them included Iroquois County’s first nursing home now reporting cases, Presence Merkle-Knipprath Countryside located at 1190 E 2900 North Rd in Clifton.

IDPH reports 2 cases at the facility as of Saturday morning.

Information on cases from Iroquois County’s first nursing home reporting cases was limited to numeral count only. No ages or genders were given.   To date, Iroquois County Public Health has reported 11 cases of members of the community above the age of 60 years old, including two males age 60s and 80s reported Friday afternoon. 

Just one week ago, Iroquois County Health Department reported over half of all cases had recovered from the virus, with 9 of 16 cases labeled as such.  As of Saturday afternoon, 15 COVID positive cases had been labeled as recovered according to the Iroquois County Health Department.
