Bolingbrook Residents Asked to Shelter in Place After Teenager Found Shot Near Brooks Middle School

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – A 17-year-old girl was found shot near Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook Friday afternoon.

According to Bolingbrook Police, officers responded to the scene at Lexington Drive and Lee Lane where the victim was found. Suspects in the case have been identified as  14-16-year-old black males who managed to escape on foot, leaving residents on edge.

Preliminary investigations report the incident may be connected to a prearranged narcotics transaction, rather than a random act of violence. 

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.  Police are asking residents to avoid the area and residents in the area to shelter-in-place until further notice.
