Mother Arrested on DUI charges, Violently Abusing 5-Month-Old Baby Boy in Joliet

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet woman is facing charges of child abuse after allegedly inflicting serious injuries on her 5-month-old baby boy. 

According to Joliet Police, Taylor Harmon, 25, was allegedly witnessed slamming her infant into a car seat around 10:30 p.m. Thursday before violently shaking the carrier. Reports indicate the child suffered severe head trauma later visible to officers and was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital before being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Harmon was charged on four DUI counts along with domestic battery and endangering the life or health of a child.  She is now being held in the Will County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
