During a Village Board meeting tonight on ZOOM, Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore announced some Village employees had tested positive for COVID-19 during a recent mass testing effort conducted by Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee.

“We’d like to thank Riverside and BBCHS for having their COVID-19 testing done today. Hopefully, the community went out and got tested.” Mayor Schore said tonight. “I know a lot of the Village people were surprised to find out they had it with no symptoms. Please get out and get tested if you can.”

Mayor Schore did not give any specifics on how many Village employees or staff had tested positive for the virus.

“We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation,” Bourbonnais Mayor Schore said Monday. “(Village) Lobbies are still closed. Anybody needing any attention can call the Village offices 815-937-3570 or at public works 815-937-0817.”

As of Monday, Illinois Department of Public Health reports 107 cases of COVID-19 in the 60914 zip code since the pandemic began.

Village offices will be closed on Memorial Day.

Riverside Healthcare conducted COVID-19 tests for the Village of Bourbonnais employees back on May 6th.
